Classification Assignments for Feature Types

Feature types can be assigned to classifications to distinguish among feature types and to control the way Bentley Utilities Designer interprets the feature type's interactions with other feature types. For example, if a feature type is assigned to the Tappable Feature classification, it can serve as the starting point for a new section of the network. Classifications are essential for modeling intelligent networks, but a feature type can exist without a classification.

The Classification Assignments dialog box is used to assign a classification to a feature type. This dialog box is accessed with the Classifications button on the Properties page. Required fields are indicated in bold type.

Classifications can also be assigned to feature attributes. For information, see Classification Assignments for Feature Type Attributes).
